Your work will focus on automating and testing cloud-native solutions, enhancing the services and platforms we offer. You’ll be part of a team committed to optimizing cloud deployments for performance and scalability, with an automation-first approach that prioritizes both dataplane and controlplane efficiency.

What You’ll Do:

  • Evaluate and predict risks to product functionality, performance, maintainability, and reliability, collaborating with engineers to mitigate them.

  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to ensure solution reliability and performance.

  • Design, build, and maintain automated testing frameworks and tools.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address system vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with security standards.

  • Analyze test results, identify issues, and work with development teams to implement fixes.

  • Improve existing automation processes and architectures.

  • Evaluate new technologies, third-party libraries, and tools through proof-of-concepts and benchmarking.

  • Contribute to the entire cloud software development lifecycle, from concept to delivery and post-launch support.

  • Resolve complex system-level stability and scalability issues.

  • Maintain code integrity and organization, ensuring optimal performance for both front-end and back-end systems.

  • Design, build, and operate continuous, reliable, and maintainable systems with functional and integration-level test automation services.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS/MS Degree with professional experience in a software engineering role.

  • 7+ years of experience in development and testing.

  • Proven experience in Cloud and Microservices Architecture.

  • A passion for data-driven decision-making.

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with experience working in collaborative, cross-functional teams.

  • Cloud Native experience: Docker Containers, Kubernetes Orchestration, and cloud providers like AWS and GCP.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and in teams.

  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networking and VPN technologies (SSL/DTLS/IKEv2/IPSec).

  • Experience in network and application security, including load balancing, caching, compression, firewalling, reverse proxy, and SSL termination.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with Firewalls, SWG, CASB, and network services.

  • Familiarity with SSE, SASE, and SD-WAN solutions.

  • Proficiency in Python or Golang for software development and scripting.

  • Experience with agile methodologies like Scrum or Kanban.

  • A mindset of continuous improvement, learning from failures, and celebrating successes.

Who You’ll Work With:

You’ll join the Cloud Security Engineering’s Solution Engineering team, focusing on system and scale testing for the Umbrella and Cisco Secure Access platforms. Our team values learning, experimentation, and collaboration. You’ll work closely with developers, designers, project managers, and stakeholders across Cisco to deliver high-quality software solutions.
