WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We’re seeking a CDN Security Engineer (WAF)—a seasoned technical professional who will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining NIKE’s cloud infrastructure and security framework, with a focus on Content Delivery Network (CDN) security. The ideal candidate will bring a mix of technical expertise, business insight, and collaborative spirit to drive innovation and excellence.
Key Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience and training.
Experience:
Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience.
At least two (2) years of hands-on experience with Akamai or other CDN providers.
Certifications: Preferred certifications in cloud infrastructure, security, or related fields (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, CISSP, CEH).
Cybersecurity Knowledge: Experience in cybersecurity is a plus but not mandatory.
Location: Based at the Nike Atlanta Technology Center in downtown Atlanta, GA, with a flexible 4/1 hybrid schedule (in-office Monday-Thursday, optional remote work on Fridays).
On-Call Rotation: Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation, averaging one week per month.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
As a CDN Security Engineer (WAF), you’ll be at the forefront of protecting NIKE’s digital ecosystem. Your role will involve designing, implementing, and maintaining robust cloud infrastructure and security measures. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, innovative environment to ensure seamless customer experiences and safeguard NIKE’s digital presence.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborative Problem-Solving: Partner with development teams and stakeholders to address complex challenges related to site reliability and performance on Akamai.
CDN Security Leadership: Design, deploy, and manage Web Application Firewall (WAF), DDoS, and Bot mitigation strategies, staying ahead of emerging threats and industry trends.
Automation and Efficiency: Identify and implement automation opportunities to enhance service reliability, manageability, and operational efficiency.
Incident Response: Troubleshoot and resolve performance and functional issues as part of the incident response team, maintaining clear communication with internal stakeholders.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project, design, and support documentation, ensuring knowledge sharing and seamless team collaboration.
Akamai Expertise: Serve as the primary point of contact for Akamai security enhancements and troubleshooting, working closely with Akamai teams to maintain a robust security posture.
Innovation: Explore new technologies, contribute to innovative projects, and support the growth of the TechOps Infrastructure Engineering Organization.
