Lyft is seeking experienced software engineers from various disciplines to join our growing team. We are looking for individuals passionate about building, improving, and integrating technologies that enhance the lives of our community. As an engineer at Lyft, you’ll work closely with teams such as product, data science, analytics, and operations to develop solutions that enable rapid iteration while prioritizing exceptional experiences for our passengers and drivers.

Lyft Concierge allows organizations and businesses to provide rides for their customers, offering ground transportation without requiring the Lyft app. Concierge delivers a comprehensive ride management platform, accessible via public API or web, enabling administrators to seamlessly handle multiple rides simultaneously. As an Android engineer, you’ll contribute to mobile client features that help riders access and utilize healthcare rides. You’ll play a key role in shaping a product that powers millions of rides on the Lyft platform, delivering a reliable and unique experience for our users.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, deploy, monitor, and maintain components of our Rider application.

  • Contribute to defining the roadmap and architecture based on technological and business needs.

  • Write clean, well-tested, readable, and maintainable code.

  • Identify opportunities for improvement and automation within internal systems and processes.

  • Collaborate with product stakeholders to execute projects effectively.

  • Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and share knowledge across the team.

  • Share expertise through brown bag sessions, tech talks, and promoting engineering best practices.

  • Lead large-scale projects from conception to successful implementation.

  • Support and communicate with internal partners to resolve challenges and achieve goals.

  • This role is expected to operate during standard business hours within your local U.S. time zone.

Experience:

  • 1–3 years of software engineering industry experience.

  • Proficiency in Kotlin.

  • Experience with Jetpack Compose, declarative UI development, and creating reusable components.

  • Familiarity with design and prototyping tools like Figma.

  • Knowledge of architecture paradigms such as unidirectional and reactive programming.

  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, low-ego, and cross-functional team environment.
