What You’ll Do
As a Senior Android Engineer, you’ll shape the future of our Android app, directly impacting millions of users. You’ll collaborate with engineers, designers, and product managers to build engaging, high-performance features that drive Calm’s mission forward.
Key Responsibilities
✅ Lead development of new Android features in Kotlin, ensuring smooth, delightful user experiences
✅ Architect scalable solutions while optimizing performance and reliability
✅ Collaborate cross-functionally to align technical execution with business goals
✅ Mentor engineers and advocate for best practices in Android development
✅ Own projects end-to-end—from technical design to production release

Who You Are
Technical Skills
✔ 5+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years of Android development in Kotlin
✔ Expertise in:
Android Studio, Play Store releases, and CI/CD (CircleCI)
Jetpack Compose, MVVM, REST APIs
Dependency injection (Dagger), RxJava, Room/ORMLite
✔ Strong focus on performance, testing (JUnit 5), and clean architecture
Soft Skills
✔ Product-minded: You think about how tech solves real user problems
✔ Collaborative: Work seamlessly with iOS, backend, and design teams
✔ Adaptable: Eager to learn and solve tough challenges
✔ Strong communicator: Explain complex tech to both engineers and stakeholders
Nice-to-Haves
Experience with Jetpack Compose
Familiarity with coroutines, Flow, or GraphQL
Compensation & Benefits
💰 Base Salary: 159,000–259,700 (varies by location/experience)
